If you have problems balancing your meat (a common issue with spit roasting whole animals), then a counterweight will help. It gets attached to the end of the spit and is adjustable to make up for any uneven distribution of weight on your roast.

This item will work on spits with a 7/8" or smaller diameter. With our new, longer, weight shaft you can now use it with two weights and extend them out farther from the spit giving it the potential to balance heavier loads

The full system will work to balance a load of up to 100 lbs.
