After a blight killed most American chestnut trees about 100 years ago, we get the bulk of our chestnuts from Italy. In Tuscany they have a great, long (and uninterrupted) tradition of chestnut cooking and fireplace cooking. So it's only natural that they would have great tools for both of these.
This chestnut roasting pan is a good example. Made of food grade stainless steel, this is not a toy or renamed popcorn popper (like most others available). This model has a clam shell style cover to keep the nuts in place while you shake them. Made in a small factory in Tuscany Italy and imported directly by SpitJack.
This is the black-finished version of this item.
