Spit Rod for CB35, 2.21.2012

The rod and motor are rugged. The only problem is that my first intended use was roasting a whole rib roast, and the end of the spit is hollow, which would have made skewering very difficult. So I had a local machine shop make a pointed end piece in stainless steel that I inserted in to the hollow spit rod. It allowed easy skewering of the rib roast.

I needed to cook a whole lamb and the butche said it would be 30 lbs. It was forty, but this machine held up just fine. The forks were a little oversized but it all worked.
